[Claire cants her head to one side, looking vaguely concerned.]
You’re… sure, sir?
[Nonetheless, despite her surprise and worry, she surrenders the tea-tray to Mr. Edgeworth, reasoning to herself that perhaps the ritual will help him to relax…]
Very well. Thank you.
[She smiles politely, carefully smoothing her skirt as she takes a seat on the sofa indicated.
Given Edgeworth’s demeanor, it is hard not to want to ask him if he’s alright, but given that it seems it has not been a good day, and answering may simply stress him further, she represses the question, and clasps her hands in a deferential position, watching the tea ritual in respectful silence instead.]
[The prosecutor doesn’t answer, merely inclining his head a little to confirm his action. The tea ritual is a welcome distraction, and if Miles needs anything after this exhausting day it definitely would be something to take his mind off the past events.
For a moment the district attorney really manages to calm down and when he finishes and turns back to the woman, something calmer lies in his traits.]
I hope it is to your liking.
[At that he picks up one of the tea cups and hands it to the sitting woman, before taking another cup for his own. Lightly he blows onto the surface to let it cool down, then takes a small sip, relaxing as the liquid warms him up from the inside.]
Ms. DeCuir, I would like to thank you again for having brought tea. It certainly is a silver lining on the horizon on this dreadful day.
